Tobias Bigger
Pianist
Tobias Bigger was born in Germany in 1962. While still attending high school,
he was granted a state financed scholarship to study piano at the Musikhochschule
in Gologne with Prof Helmut Weinrebe. This was followed by further piano studies
and master classes with the famed professors Karl-Heinz Kammerling (Hanover, Salzburg).
Vitalij Margulis (Leningrad, Freiburg i. Br., Los Angeles). Detlef Kraus (Kssen,
Hamburg) and Bernard Ringeissen (Paris).
Mr.
Bigger was a prizewinner at the International Piano Competition held in Senigallia,
Italy. He practiced law until 1998, at which time he chose to dedicate himself
solely to activities as a concert pianist, including solo concert performaces
in Germany and abroad, chamber music (duo concerts with violinists and cellists;
establishing a piano trio) and accompanying vocalists.
"Thus,
Tobias Bigger presents a forgotten art of metamorphosing music, an art which today
finds more and more enthusiasts. And this musician from Finnentrop (Germany) is
not only enthusiastically discovering music, but moreover shows a magnificent
skill at the piano, a brilliant and - despite all the pleasure he takes in tonal
effects - extremely cultivated approach to the music."
